Emergency Services
Our licensed emergency electricians in Truth or Consequences respond to the full range of serious electrical situations. These are not general electrical appointments — these are urgent calls where safety and system function are at stake and waiting is not an option.
When your Truth or Consequences property loses power and the utility has confirmed no outage in your area, the cause is internal — typically a failed main breaker, service entrance problem, or panel fault. Our technicians diagnose from the meter base through the distribution panel and identify the failure point quickly.
A breaker that trips repeatedly under normal loads in your Truth or Consequences home or business signals a real problem: an overloaded circuit, a failing breaker, damaged wiring, or a short in a connected device or outlet. We trace the fault rather than simply resetting the breaker and leaving.
The smell of burning plastic or insulation inside a wall, outlet, or panel in Truth or Consequences is a pre-fire warning that demands immediate response. Loose connections under load generate heat that builds over time. We locate and fix these hazards before they progress to an actual fire.
Visible sparking at an outlet or switch in your Truth or Consequences property indicates a loose wire connection, a failing device, or deteriorated wiring. This is not a cosmetic issue — it is a shock and fire risk that requires same-day attention from a licensed Truth or Consequences electrician.
The main breaker protects your entire Truth or Consequences electrical system. When it fails, trips immediately on reset, or shows signs of heat damage, every circuit in the building is at risk. We diagnose and replace failed main breakers and panels throughout Truth or Consequences with same-day service availability.
Severe weather, fallen trees, or vehicle impact can damage the service entrance, meter base, or weatherhead on your Truth or Consequences property. These are urgent repairs that need a licensed electrician to coordinate safely with the utility before power restoration is attempted.

Customer Reviews
Our main panel threw the main breaker at 11 PM and would not reset. I called No Joke electrician and a technician arrived in about 50 minutes. He diagnosed a failing main breaker and replaced it the same night. The written price he gave me before starting was exactly what I paid. No drama, no runaround — just a professional who knew what he was doing.
We had a burning smell coming from behind an outlet in our kitchen in Truth or Consequences. My partner found No Joke electrician online and called. They were there within the hour. It turned out to be a loose back-wire connection that had been arcing inside the wall. They found it fast, replaced the outlet and the damaged wire section, tested everything, and were done in under two hours. Saved us from a very bad situation.
I run a small restaurant in Truth or Consequences and we had a kitchen circuit that kept tripping during the dinner rush. Called No Joke electrician on a Friday evening. The technician showed up fast, identified an overloaded 20-amp circuit feeding too many appliances, and installed a new dedicated circuit so we could finish service. That kind of speed matters when you have a full house waiting for food.
FAQ
A true Truth or Consequences electrical emergency is any situation where your safety, your property, or your ability to function is at immediate risk. That includes complete power loss not caused by a utility outage, burning smells from walls or the electrical panel, sparking outlets or switches, a main breaker that trips immediately on reset, warm or discolored outlet covers, and any situation involving exposed live wiring. If you are in doubt, treat it as an emergency and call +1-866-821-0442 — our team will help you assess over the phone whether an immediate dispatch is needed.
For emergency calls in Truth or Consequences, our target is arrival within 60 minutes in most service areas. This is not a guaranteed window — actual time depends on current technician locations and call volume — but it is the standard we build our dispatch around. When you call +1-866-821-0442, the dispatcher will give you a real, current ETA based on where the nearest available technician is at that moment, not a generic 2-to-4-hour window.
No. No Joke electrician does not apply after-hours premiums, weekend markups, or holiday surcharges for service in Truth or Consequences. The price you receive at 2 AM on a Sunday is the same price you would receive at 10 AM on a Tuesday for the same work. We believe that penalizing customers financially for when their electrical emergency occurs is not a fair practice, so we do not do it.
For a single tripped breaker with no burning smell, no sparking, and no sign of heat damage, a single manual reset attempt is reasonable. However, if the breaker trips again immediately, do not continue resetting it — repeated resets on a fault-protected circuit can damage wiring and create a fire risk. If there is any burning smell, visible heat damage, discoloration on the panel, or sparking associated with the trip, do not reset the breaker at all. Call +1-866-821-0442 and let a licensed Truth or Consequences technician assess the situation before any reset is attempted.
Yes. Every technician No Joke electrician dispatches in Truth or Consequences holds a current, active NM electrical license issued by the state licensing authority.
